Welcome to Hillsboro, where history and new urbanism come together to create a vibrant, fast-growing community. One of the oldest communities in Oregon, Hillsboro has experienced dramatic change with the arrival of high-technology companies and an expanding population.

While farming and timber remain economic anchors for the area, the leading industry is semiconductor manufacturing. Intel Corporation and other high-technology leaders have, in turn, attracted supplier and service companies. Yet for all its change, Hillsboro remains a friendly place with a small-town character. It continues to value its traditions and cherish its slower pace. We love parades and community revivals, high school sports teams and summer picnics. We have fine schools and churches, quiet streets and parks. Urban planners call this “livability.” Longtime residents just call it “home.”
